WHAT THEY SAID
&
WHAT THEY MEANT

We all have met people that say one thing and mean another. Many well-known people have spoken out on various topics. We have listed some quotes and what we believe was actually meant.

WHAT THEY SAID,
"The Sanders campaign needs to stop using the New York primary as a playground for political games and negative attacks against Hillary Clinton."
-Brian Fallon the national press secretary for the Hillary Clinton campaign, on setting a New York debate date with the Bernie Sanders campaign.
WHAT THEY MEANT,
The Sanders campaign needs to stop getting huge rallies and talking about the issues.

WHAT THEY SAID,
"There has to be some form of punishment, yeah."
- Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, when asked if abortion is a crime should women who had abortions be put in jail?
WHAT THEY MEANT,
They should be put in jail and sterilized. If they do it again cut their head off.

WHAT THEY SAID,
"Because I think it's difficult on her to begin with. That's the way I feel about it, George. And that's the end of it."
- Republican presidential candidate John Kasich after being asked by George Stephanopoulos, "If you believe that abortion is the taking of innocent, why shouldn't a woman who makes the choice to take that life face some kind of punishment or sanction?"
WHAT THEY MEANT,
Because I think it's difficult to begin with. That's the way I feel about it just like illegal immigration. I think it is difficult enough for the illegal immigrants and I don't think they should be punished either. Nobody should be punished for breaking any laws.

WHAT THEY SAID,
"Heís not going to get to 1,237, thatís like saying what if a spaceman lands tonight? Thatís not going to happen."
- Republican presidential candidate John Kasich in an interview during FOX's The Kelly File, on Donald Trump getting the required number of delegates needed to win the Republican nomination.
WHAT THEY MEANT,
I am denial and need psychiatric help.

WHAT THEY SAID,
"Weíre going to be competitive in the states going forward, and heís not going to have the delegates."
- Republican presidential candidate John Kasich, on his chances to win the Republican nomination and to stop Donald Trump from winning it.
WHAT THEY MEANT,
I haven't got a chance in hell of winning any state that I am not governor of.

WHAT THEY SAID,
"I'm also a Democrat, and have been a proud Democrat all my adult life."
- Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
WHAT THEY MEANT,
My years as a Goldwater Girl was a youthful indiscretion.

WHAT THEY SAID,
"Elections are about choices, youíre supposed to present your case, and youíre supposed to critique the other case. Thatís what you do in an election. It is not a coronation. It is a contest."
- Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, on running for president.
WHAT THEY MEANT,
It is a coronation, I know it, you know it and Debbie Wasserman Schultz knows it.

WHAT THEY SAID,
"Iím probably more intelligent than Hillary,"
- Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.
WHAT THEY MEANT,
Probably but I am not sure.

WHAT THEY SAID,
"The pizza came scalding hot, and so I used a little fork."
- Republican presidential candidate John Kasich, on eating pizza with a fork.
WHAT THEY MEANT,
It is not like I used a big fork, it was a tiny little fork, you could hardly see it.

WHAT THEY SAID,
"We believe GE Capital no longer meets the criteria to be designated as a SIFI and we look forward to working cooperatively and constructively with the Financial Stability Oversight Council through the rescission process."
- GE Capital CEO Keith Sherin, on losing the Too big to fail designation known as a systemically important financial institution which would free up capital and remove costly restrictions.
WHAT THEY MEANT,
We are now small enough to fail and by golly we will fail.

WHAT THEY SAID,
"We just have to keep going and we're going to have an open convention. It's going to be so much fun. I believe that a convention will look at somebody like me and thatís why I think Iím going to be the nominee."
- Republican presidential candidate John Kasich.
WHAT THEY MEANT,
Most Republican primary voters have voted for someone else and I may have only won my own state's primary but I keep running because the Republican establishment likes me more than Trump and Cruz and so I will win the nomination even though the majority of Republican voters think I am a dufus.

WHAT THEY SAID,
"We have two leading candidates for president who will almost surely will drag the ticket down."
- Vin Weber, senior strategist for the failed Jeb Bush presidential campaign, on Donald Trump and Ted Cruz hurting the other Republicans on the ballot in the November election.
WHAT THEY MEANT,
Jeb Bush would have been a better nominee but I am such a great strategist that Jeb is doing many cool things but running for president isn't one of them.
